A by-election is being held to fill the vacancy on Telford & Wrekin Council left by the resignation of one of the Labour councillors in Hadley & Leegomery and our candidate is Stuart Parr.
Stuart has previously represented Hadley Castle ward on Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council and is incredibly active across Hadley & Leegomery where Labour are spending so much time fighting with each other and residents that they have been neglecting the job they were elected to do.
If elected, Stuart has pledged to:
- Fight for funding from the Labour-run council to support pensioners who have had their Winter Fuel Allowance taken off them
- Oppose Council Tax increases whilst services are being cut
- Continue to fight the inconsiderate planning application at the Sankey's site
- Tackle crime and anti-social behaviour with an improved police presence in Hadley & Leegomery
- Protect green spaces such as Apley Woods and prevent them being built on
If Labour win this by-election, none of Hadley & Leegomery's councillors will actually live in Hadley & Leegomery.
