Cllr Gareth Thomas has been to Little Wenlock to check progress on road repairs that he requested some time ago from Telford & Wrekin Council after a resident was injured by a pothole that he had previously reported.
Amongst the issues raised by residents was the disputed responsibility for repairing Buildwas Lane which is in a terrible state of disrepair. Telford & Wrekin Council have accepted that they are responsible for its maintenance so Cllr Thomas requested it be resurfaced to be told that there is no money left in the budget for it to be done this financial year. The financial year started 3 days ago and there is already no money left.
Residents of Little Wenlock will take some comfort from knowing that although there is no money left to repair their disintegrating roads, the council has found the money for Shaun Davies' £20m swimming pool in Dawley.
