Nike and the FA have unveiled a new England football shirt with a defaced Cross of St Georges on it.

The red and white flag that has been the symbol of our nation since the 13th Century has been given what Nike describes as a "playful update" by turning it into a blue and purple striped cross.

Our national sports teams are one of the few expressions of Englishness that we're left with and the Cross of St Georges is an inseparable part of that.

The multicoloured flag Nike have created isn't even recognisable as the English flag, it's insulting and it should be changed back immediately. When the Labour leader agrees with the Conservative leader you know it's wrong!
