Newport Town Council organised an excellent Volunteer Liaison event yesterday evening at Burton Borough School.

The purpose was to partly celebrate and recognise the hard working volunteer groups in Newport, of whom there are many, but mainly to facilitate networking, share knowledge and work out how we can all help each other.

The session was very well supported, the Shropshire Community Foundation (a grant-giving body) gave a presentation. There were also some very valuable contacts made, notably for the governing bodies of Burton Borough School and Newport Junior School.

Well done Newport Town council and Newport's wonderful volunteers!
